I am Louise L., a well published novelist and writer, winner of the James Jones Literary Society Award for a Best First Novel and finalist for the Prize in Modern Letters. I am also a highly experienced editor -- I work with novelists and writers of non-fiction to make their books ready for publication.

In addition to line editing and close mentoring work with students on-line, I have taught international learners of English from all over the world. My specialty is writing, though I also work on grammar and basic to advanced English skills. For the past year I taught at Education First in Tarrytown, New York. I love to teach and I love to see results in my students. Seeing a person shine through their work is a great gift.

I have a passion for learning and books and I share a vast reading in world literature to all those who are open to learning and sharing. My teaching style is relaxed, personal and wherever possible, fun. I always look for texts and works that inspire and interest my particular students.

Study Skills

Study Skills

Study Skills are about learning how to study more effectively. They allow you to make the best use of your time. Repetition is key to memory; more frequent study sessions are more important than long study sessions. Study skills also determine how you learn best -- whether you are a tactile, an oral or a visual learner, for example, and then give you tools and techniques to improve your learning. I have written a text on study skills for Fingerlakes Community College which I will share with you if we study together! I also have an MA, BA (Columbia College) and a graduate diploma in teaching and also taught test prep with Revolution Prep in New York.
