I am a Biology and Chinese double major graduating from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in May 2026, where I maintained Dean's List standing for nine consecutive semesters. I offer tutoring in biology, Mandarin Chinese, and DAT preparation, bringing both strong academic credentials and real-world experience in each area.
My approach to tutoring is patient, structured, and personalized. I have been teaching English and Mandarin to students of varying ages and backgrounds since 2022, working one-on-one with both children and adults in conversational practice, grammar, reading, and writing. For Mandarin specifically, I completed an advanced immersion program at the Beijing Institute of Economics and Management and hold an HSK 6 certification, the highest level of the official Chinese government proficiency exam. I tailor my lessons to each student's goals, whether that is passing a class, preparing for the HSK, or building conversational fluency from scratch.
For biology and DAT prep, I draw on my coursework in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and ecology, as well as over a year of hands-on clinical and laboratory experience including PCR, ELISA, bacterial culture, and 400+ hours of patient care in ICU, ER, and Med-Surge settings. I understand the material from both an academic and applied perspective, which helps me explain concepts in ways that stick. I am comfortable working with high school students, pre-med and pre-dental undergraduates, and anyone preparing for standardized science exams.
