I was a writing center tutor at the University of Washington, where I engaged in one-on-one assistance with writing papers and essays. I enjoy writing and am well-versed in reading and writing academic papers (both in the social sciences and natural sciences).
I have a casual approach to tutoring. For elementary, middle school, and high school students my goal is to help them to understand the basics of writing and foster their confidence, so that essays and papers are not so daunting. My goal for college students is to help them figure out what they're trying to articulate and the best way to communicate it clearly.
I have primarily unpaid experience tutoring; mostly ad hoc for family, friends, and friends of friends who want help with assignments. I have been told I am straightforward but kind when giving feedback; and I am great at helping you work through an argument or point you are trying to make in your essay/paper, etc. :)
