Hi there! My name is Kade and I recently graduated from Columbia University's Mechanical Engineering program. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Ocean Resources Engineering at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. During my time at Columbia, I worked as a teaching assistant for several courses including Physics, Introduction to Human Spaceflight, and Aerospace Human Factors. In these roles, I supported students through in classroom, small group discussions, and one-on-one sessions. In these sessions I worked on problem solving strategies, exam preparation/performance review, design feedback, and general clarification of material. Outside of the university setting, I have also tutored high school and middle school students privately and through the National Honor Society.
I take pride in tailoring my teaching approach to fit each student's individual needs and learning style. My experience spans a wide range of learners, from middle school students to post-baccalaureate adults returning to school. I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment that helps each student build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
I am well equipped to tutor in elementary, middle school, high school, and introductory college-level courses. I have extensive experience helping students prepare for standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT. In addition, I am confident teaching subjects such as fluid and solid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, computer-aided design, differential equations, and most core engineering topics. If you're wondering whether I can assist with a particular subject, please feel free to reach out!
