Hi! I’m Youmna, and I graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service with honors, where I studied Culture and Politics with a concentration in International Development and Security.

I tutor English, the humanities, and the social sciences. My subject areas include Art History, Comparative Government and Politics, Literature, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Psychology, US Government and Politics, US History, and World History. I also provide test preparation for these subjects at the AP level, as well as SAT Reading and Writing and the SAT Essay. My approach to standardized test preparation focuses on building a strong understanding of commonly tested question types, developing effective strategies, and improving pacing and confidence.

Through years of writing, editing, and academic research on complex topics, I have developed strong skills in structure, argumentation, and critical analysis. At Georgetown, I completed an honors thesis in international relations and published research on political science, jurisprudence, and religion. My coursework encompasses global politics, economics, and literature, providing me broad familiarity with both analytical writing and literary texts.

I also have extensive experience reviewing personal statements for college and scholarship applications. When working with students on personal and supplemental essays, I focus on helping them articulate their stories with clarity, intellectual depth, and authenticity, qualities that resonate with admissions committees and bring applications to life.

I am committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative learning environment. I view tutoring not only as preparation for exams and assignments, but also as an opportunity to help students understand why idea-driven learning matters and how it connects to the world beyond the classroom.

I am easy to reach and respond promptly. Feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a lesson. I look forward to working with you!

Great AP Govt tutor

Youmna was such a great tutor for my daughter, who’s taking AP Government this semester. She helped her understand how the different branches work and interact. They also reviewed her FRQ and went through some AP test bank questions together. We’ll definitely be working with Youmna again—she was super patient, kind, and connected really well with my high schooler.
