I started one of the first web development companies in Jacksonville Florida. After successfully creating websites and services for local companies, including wjxt's first email new update server, I focused nationally on VR companies. I made a web traffic monitoring service for VREAM in Chicago, Illinois, and got hired there to be their webmaster. While there I learned C++ and Java and started creating Virtual Reality world content and custom device drivers. After that, I returned to Jacksonville and worked in C++ and then C#, T-SQL, Javascript as a full-stack developer of desktop and web based applications. I Currently have been at Allstate Insurance for 6 years creating mobile and web API applications in C# and ASP.NET, ASP.NET Core.
I have found that in every workplace, I have learned the most by sharing knowledge with my peers, and enjoy teaching as much as I enjoy learning new skills together. It is always fascinating to rediscover how even the most basic systems work, as well as to tackle and understand new technologies. Learning is a full time job and by sharing that knowlege with others I find that I continue to constantly deepen my own understanding.
I am fluent in C#, in both framework and dot net core contexts.
Parallel to this, I have deeply studied and worked with Javascript including functional programming practices and integrating native code with javascript engines directly.
C# and Javascript comprise the business and presentation tiers, and mastery of T-SQL is essential for the database tier. Understanding the differences in how SQL logic works from imperative languages is a crucial skill for getting the correct data in the correct format into one's business logic code.
I am new to tutoring outside my workplace environment and am very interested in working with new people who are as interesting in learning about these technologies as I have always been!
