As a tutor with a BS in Mechanical Engineering as well as hands-on experience as an Electrical Engineer, I bring a strong foundation in STEM subjects. My role in designing electrical distribution systems for schools demonstrates not only technical proficiency but also an ability to convey complex concepts clearly. Additionally, I have two years of experience tutoring college students in subjects such as writing, math, and biology at the College of Coastal Georgia. I tutored students aged 17 to 50, both in groups and individually, for 2-4 hours, four days a week.
While at CCGA, I taught an "Introduction to College" course for a semester, helping students navigate the academic environment while honing their study and organizational skills. My tutoring methods included using the Socratic method, which encourages critical thinking by asking probing questions, and scaffolding techniques to gradually build students' understanding from basic concepts to more complex applications. By fostering a supportive and interactive learning environment, I successfully guided students to greater academic confidence and improved performance with many of them giving me praise in helping them to do much better.
