I have a wide background as an educator. I have a Bachelors degree in Police administration, and 1 M.S. in Telecom Management and 1 M.A. in Special Education. Currently, I am a high school teacher. My subjects are History (Social Studies) and English, with a specialty in special education, I have also taught in the elementary and middle school levels. For 10 years, I worked in an Independent Study program, tutoring students in all levels and in all subjects on a one to one basis. I also managed an elementary after school environment for 4 years successfully helping students 1-6, complete their homework and prepare for the next grade level. I enjoy working with students in school, but especially like tutoring because I am able to help each student with their individual needs so that they can be successful.
Good organization skills, study habits, goals and a desire to learn are key to becoming a successful student. My students have varied from various illnesses and disabilities to students who need to catch up on credits in order to move on to the next level or graduate. My joy has been to see students completely understand their assignments, raise their grades and move confidently into the next grade or graduate. I am a certified teacher and already had a background check prior to gaining employment as a teacher in a school district, 10 years ago.
