If you are looking for a fun, flexible, easy to get along with tutor for either German or Russian I am perfect for you. I am a former German professor from Russia who currently lives in America and tutors full time now.

I provide a variety of activities for my lessons so you will never get bored. For example, I will use games, interactive conversational lessons, fun warm up tasks, case studies, and even riddles. We will use authentic materials as well. You will learn conversational skills, formal writing skills, and test taking strategies all in a fun manner.

I have a background as as an experienced lecturer, teacher, and tutor in the field of linguistics (general linguistics, history of linguistics, psycolinguistics, social linguistics, gender studies). Since defending my dissertation, I have continued to do research in gender studies in the field of virtual communication and digital text, especially non-verbal communication, social networks and gender-specific communication. However, I have found that my true passion is helping students in one-on-one lessons.

Quickly, you will learn basic speaking skills, read and understand texts from every-day life, listen and understand radio, TV reports, songs, movies, and regular native speakers, write emails, and cards.

My basic principles are:

While I was working in Moscow I held the positions of assistant professor, associate professor, and lecturer at the MePhi, one of the most highly-respected universities in the country. German has been my biggest passion since I was 8. I spent 10 years at Moscow State Linguistic University studying and researching the history of Germanic languages, its dialects, and unique characteristics of German. I taught German for almost 18 years at the university, to private classes, at companies, and in face-to-face sessions. I am not only an experienced professor; I am also a methodologist who likes to create new exercises, tests, materials, and courses. I have been traveling to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland for fun and as an interpreter. I have Goethe-Institute certificate, which proves my qualifications.

Easy to Learn From

I had been trying to learn German on my own with Rosetta Stone for a couple of months with no success. I finally decided to reach out to a German tutor to see if the results would be better. It was definitely the right move! I learned more in my first class with Tatiana than I had in 3 months with Rosetta Stone. She explained grammar in a way I understood and from the first lesson forced me to speak and read out loud in German, which is something I was a little embarrassed to do but found immensely helpful and helped me learn. Excellent Russian tutor

I highly and enthusiastically recommend Tatiana as a Russian tutor. She helps my two kids (ages 10 and 12). She is very friendly and easy going, knows how to engage the kids, and uses games and conversation as learning tools. She is very attentive to my requests and tailors her lessons accordingly. As a result of the lessons, my kids' reading speed, vocabulary, and comprehension have improved. I should also note that Tatiana has always been able to accommodate our requests to change the regular schedule if absolutely needed.

We have went over basic vocabulary and conversation during lessons, along with information about Russia and Russian culture. The student is given online and written resources to supplement the lessons and provide a basic understanding of grammar, vocabulary, conversation, and comprehension. This provides the student some personal latitude to pursue it his/her own pace while having a structured curriculum. Effective and thorough teaching but at a laid-back and friendly pace. Overall I would recommend :)
