I am a certified teacher with a Master’s degree in General and Special Education and an Ed.S. in Emotional and Behavioral Disorders. I have over 18 years of experience working with students in grades elementary through middle school, and I am currently a Reading and Behavior Intervention Specialist. My background includes extensive work in both general education and special education settings, where I have supported students with a wide range of academic and behavioral needs. I am also trained in structured literacy approaches and use data from diagnostic assessments to guide my instruction.

In my current role, I provide targeted, research-based instruction in phonics, reading fluency, and comprehension for students who are performing below grade level. I work with students in small groups and one-on-one settings, using strategies such as repeated reading, explicit phonics instruction, and comprehension skill development. I also integrate support for focus, confidence, and learning behaviors, as these are essential for academic success. My experience includes working with students who struggle with attention, motivation, and reading-related frustration, and I focus on helping them build both skills and confidence.

I have taught students ranging from early elementary through middle school, with a strong focus on grades 3 through 8. This range of experience allows me to meet students where they are and provide instruction that is both supportive and appropriately challenging. My goal is to help students make meaningful progress while developing the skills and confidence they need to become successful, independent readers.
