Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been trained by Project GRAD to tutor in K-6 elementary math utilizing their Move It Math program which improves grades and increases test scores, accelerates learning by as much as 2 years by grade 4. The Move It Math Program's logic is to seek lasting success based on understanding and present Math as events in the form of hands-on activities that children can and like to do: play games, make things, and think. The MIM program accounts for different learning styles—the predominately auditory, visual, or tactile/kinesthetic child I was trained under the Hands On Atlanta Program and Georgia State University's READS Program as well as Project GRAD'S Success For All program. The SFA program is designed to take students back to the alphabet to learn and accurately use sounds and pictures to recognize how a word should be repeated. These programs I have been trained in taught memorization and language coding. I have been using these same modules since 2001 and am a proficient user of all three. These programs were also merged with K-6 programs in academics to get students on, at, and above reading level including Math.

This was our first tutor lesson. And she was patient and understanding my learning disability. She came up with a lesson and a plan to get me to my goal on time.
