I have been an educator for over 25 years. I hold a B.S. degree in Elementary/Special Education and a master’s degree in Autism Spectrum Disorder. Early in my career, I realized the importance of building students up so they can believe in their own success. I also learned that true teaching starts when we see each student as an individual and build on the strengths they bring with them. One of my greatest joys is seeing the excitement in a child’s eyes when they realize, “I can do this.” I strongly believe that teachers and parents form a team, working together to ensure every child reaches their full potential.

I am a firm believer in lifelong learning. Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, and not all students learn at the same pace. We all need a gentle push in the right direction at some point. Math, in particular, is a vital life skill that follows us into adulthood. When students begin early and learn the correct steps, it supports their growth across all areas. In my classroom, we start at each student’s current level and build upward—step by step. The only timeline we follow is “when the skill is learned.”

Many of my students have communication challenges, so connecting with them in meaningful ways is essential. I use a variety of video-based lessons because my scholars love to sing, dance, and learn through movement. I also incorporate hands-on instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs.
