Hi, I'm Ethan! I graduated with highest honors from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor's in Physics, concentration in Astrophysics, and a minor in Russian. I am currently a Research Scientist for Georgia Tech, working on cutting-edge technology in the realms of radio frequency (RF), microwaves, antennas, superconducting devices, and free-space laser communications. I have over 2 years of tutoring experience in ACT/SAT test-prep, algebra (I and II), geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, physics (I, II, and calculus-based), and more, but I am always looking to tutor a new subject!
My tutoring philosophy is based on the notion that it takes at least 3 distinct exposures to information for a student to meet their goal, whether that be full comprehension or memorization for a test. The first exposure to information typically occurs with the teacher or professor and a baseline level of comprehension, but most students stop here and never build on that foundation to create true understanding. It is my mission to help students get meaningful second and third (or however many it takes) exposures to information for the most complete understanding of materials.
My other major philosophy is that tutoring is not a magic transfer of information to a student; it requires significant work from both the tutor and the student to achieve a goal. My job is to guide a student to that goal and to make that journey much easier, removing any unnecessary confusion in the process. If you are motivated and ready to work with me, please reach out to schedule a session or ask any additional questions you may have!
