Hi, I'm Grace! I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Music, where I studied piano and minored in Biology. During my undergraduate years, I participated in several band ensembles on trombone, continuing my love of both instruments. For secondary enjoyment, I studied subjects such as Organic Chemistry and Physiology. After graduating, I received a Master's in the Art of Teaching Degree for Music Education from Mercer University while working as a piano and trombone teacher at several middle and high schools.

I am in my fourth year of teaching professionally, both as a piano teacher and as a band director. Previously, I taught as a student leader on trombone and piano. I have taught in classroom, small group, and individual settings. My classroom experience includes teaching students of all types of instruments at the middle and high school level. Oftentimes, small groups of students will come to my room for extra help, and I will manage both small groups and individuals. My piano and trombone teaching experience includes private lessons with individual students, ranging from elementary to high school, from beginner to advanced. I love seeing my students grow and motivating them to incorporate music into their daily lives.

I believe music enriches lives, whether students go on to purse music professionally or not. I encourage students to do "a little bit each day," knowing that 10 minutes at the piano before dinner makes all the difference. My goal is that students feel both encouraged and challenged as they incorporate new skills into their already busy lives. Music is an outlet that any person can benefit from.
