I’m Stephanie! I graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology and I am currently finishing my Master’s in Biology. I have a strong background in science, math, statistics, Japanese, and teaching English as a second language. I have over 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience from elementary through the university level, including special needs education.

I’m friendly, patient, have a passion for teaching, and can cater to your learning style and needs. I am skilled in making my own lesson plans, teaching in classroom, group and one-on-one settings, and tutoring students for common standardized tests. I am able to connect easily with students, address their specific needs, and help them greatly improve their skills and confidence.

I have previous experience in tutoring adults for the GED, including those who have been out of school for decades. Regarding my language skills, I successfully completed the JET Programme Interpretation & Translation Course for Japanese and English, as well as the JET Programme course to teach Japanese as a foreign language. I lived in Japan in a Japanese workplace for 5 years and my Japanese proficiency level is approximately N2. I am TEFL/TESOL certified through a 120-hour course.
