Want to ace Spanish class or surprise strangers by responding in Spanish? Well, I've got you covered!
My name is Christine, and I graduated First Honors from the University of Georgia with degrees in Spanish and Psychology, a minor in Human Services, and a certificate in New Media Studies. As someone who first learned Spanish as a middle school foreign language requirement, I understand the hurdles and frustrations that come with learning a new language, especially when courses are taught from old textbooks and worksheets. I combine this experience with my time studying linguistics and psychology to offer a more holistic experience to those looking to advance in their language-learning journey. For student learners, my goal as a tutor is not only to help improve their grades but to see them gain confidence as speakers of the language and engage consciously with Latin and/or Hispanic cultures. For adult learners and hobbyists, I understand that success looks different! As a tutor, I customize sessions to fit your goals, whether it be preparing for basic conversation on your next trip or discussing the origins of sheísmo in Rioplatense Spanish.
Previously, I tutored AP Spanish students as part of a volunteer program for a year, assisting with homework and preparing for exams during weekly sessions. I have also participated in language tables at UGA and volunteered at local clinics and non-profit organizations, where I worked closely with native Spanish speakers.
