I am a scientist at heart, but incorporate a wide range of experiences and interests (e.g., foreign languages, sports) to make learning accessible and applicable to everyday life. I have tutored students over the past fifteen years to prepare students for middle/high school and undergraduate courses including psychology, neuroscience, German, and public health. While I typically tutor students individually, I have also facilitated groups, particularly to build confidence in tough subject matter and brainstorm new approaches.

I leverage an extensive interdisciplinary background in neuroscience, clinical research and technical writing to address complex public health challenges. I hold a Master of Public Health from the Milken Institute School of Public Health at The George Washington University (2022) and a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Vanderbilt University (2016).

I prefer to tutor in a conversational style. I want to help you look at subjects from different angles, and build your understanding naturally. I also like to bring in real-world examples whenever possible, since I want the material to be useful to you outside of the classroom. That way, you'll build skills to expand knowledge on your own whenever future challenges come up. We've all been there!

I look forward to learning about your interests, strengths, and how to best help you master your desired subjects.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I earned a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience with training in severe mental illness, and worked at the Marcus Autism Center in Atlanta, GA for over three years. I have helped children and families manage severe behavioral disturbance, gain skills, and improve academic results.
Epidemiology

Epidemiology

I am a seasoned public health professional with over ten years of work on chronic/communicable disease and substance misuse. These experiences have taken me to Federal, state, local, and Tribal public health authorities to address topics like COVID-19, hypertension, and severe mental illnesses. I see epidemiology as a core discipline to understand population health trends, research, and medical/public health interventions.
German

German

I learned German from elementary school through my undergraduate studies, have travelled throughout the German speaking countries in Europe, and completed a neuroscience research internship with a team in Munich, Germany. I initially struggled with the language, and considered quitting before I met the right teacher. Once I learned to apply German to everyday life, learning was a lot of fun.
Sociology

Sociology

As a public health professional, I have worked extensively to understand how social dynamics influence the way we understand science, health promotion and policy. Sociology is blended into everything that we are building in our increasingly socially connected world. I have direct training in social considerations related to mental health, chronic disease prevention, and program development. I have also completed coursework in sociology at the Graduate level.
