I have a bachelors of science in Psychology from the University of Georgia, as well as a minor in both Spanish and Criminal Justice. Currently I am in a Nursing program at Georgia Piedmont Technical College where I will earn an associates degree and the ability to sit for the NCLEX-PN. Within my classes for both degrees I completed college level math classes including Pre-Calculus, Mathematical Modeling, Psych Stat, and Drug Calc. I also completed 8 upper-level Spanish classes to earn my minor, excelling in grammar.
I served as a peer tutor for both Math and Spanish within my cohorts. I use a student-led and goal-driven approach, often times assisting students with homework assignments or reviewing previous tests. At the beginning of the tutoring relationship, and throughout, I assist students in setting achievable goals for improvement in the given subject matter. In order to better serve as a tutor, I ask that students send me subject matter ahead of time as much as is possible in order for me to brush-up on skills needed to complete their goals.
My previous tutoring experience involved peer-level tutoring in both high school and undergraduate degree programs. These were volunteer experiences and often-times took place in a classroom setting before or after school hours, or over video chat. This experience was informal and student-initiated.
