I am currently a certified ELA teacher. I have been teaching for a total of 7 years. The related skills I have taught are reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. I believe in providing engaging and interactive lessons. I started out working in a school district before I became certified. During that time, I worked with elementary, middle, and high school students. I was assigned to a reading interventionist position a short period of time. With this position, I worked with students who struggled with learning to read. I have worked with different populations such as gifted students, students with accommodations, and English learners.
My initial plan always begins with identifying the need of my students and to build from there. My goal is to always make sure my lessons are fun and engaging. I am a ELA teacher at heart because there are so many ways to have fun and learn. I often try to include many different types of learning platforms that are fun and engaging. Often times with ELA, you can connect it to real world experiences. Most of the activities that I use often include connection to real world experiences.
