Tutoring allows me to concentrate on individual student needs versus being bound to a set curriculum. Moreover, I love the "AHA" moments. Tutoring allows that to happen. When it does, it brings joy to so many.
I was born and raised in middle Georgia. I have acquired 3 degrees before even hitting the age of thirty. I have my Associate's of Science in Nursing. I have my bachelor's in Early Childhood & Special Education. Lastly, I have my Master's in Elementary Education. My hobbies include reading, hiking, and exercising.
Math has always been a strong suit of mine. I am qualified to tutor mathematics because I have experience in grades kindergarten, third grade, and fourth grade. With these ranges, I am accustomed to what students should know prior to and exiting each of these grade levels. I teach in a school that is bound to the Common Core curriculum. However, I did not learn Common Core as a child. With that said, I feel as though I am able to communicate student needs and abilities with parents. Moreover, I am able to pull from a plethora of strategies.
I have hosted students from various countries in all my years of teaching. I understand that learning reading and writing in the English language can be a struggle for children.
