I have been teaching AP and general chemistry in a face to face high school for the last 17 years. I have taught AP chemistry online for the last 7 years. I have also taught physics, astronomy, and biology during my career. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 with an undergraduate degree in Biology. I received a Master's in Science Education from Piedmont College and a Specialist in Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University.

Before going into education I worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta Georgia for two years as a research scientist. Over the course of my career I have also been a football and basketball coach at the high school level. I love working with young people and helping them realize their potential. Chemistry, and science in general, can sometimes frustrate students and make them feel as if "they're not good at it". Helping students learn the material and realize that they can actually become strong in the discipline is a metamorphosis that is incredibly rewarding.

My College Board exam pass rates over the years are around 75%. The global average for pass rates on that exam are around 50%. I have been a Teacher of the year finalist, a STAR teacher, a Master teacher in my online classroom, and I was the chief writer, and actor, for the Georgia Public Broadcasting series, "Chemistry Matters".

I have been a defensive coordinator at 2 different high schools with a defense that ranked in the top 5 in the state. I was a secondary coach for 12 years before becoming a defensive coordinator.

I was the assistant coach for a region championship basketball team at my face to face school.
