Hi! I'm David an experienced tutor with a passion for helping students gain confidence in math and SAT test prep. I specialize in making complex topics more understandable. I have an engineering and a management degree from Georgia Tech. I am retired now and spent my career in Computer Technology with both product develop companies and companies that used these products.

I have tutored for the past 15 years. My students have ranged from 3rd grade to freshman in college. I have tutored students in math (3rd – 8th grade math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, probability, pre-calculus and calculus. I create a personalized learning plan that combines live tutoring with interactive resources — including videos, quizzes, and mastery challenges. I have tutored one on one in-person and on-line and had excellent results (which I define as the student reaching a minimum proficient and often mastery level of skill level). I also define success as achieving “A or B” grade in the student’s course.

My teaching approach starts with the student taking a test to determine his current skill level and identify any gaps in knowledge needed to be successful in his class. I walk students through topics using personal and video instruction. After each session, I assign specific practice exercises or videos to reinforce what we covered (done individually by the student). I track progress and help the student stay motivated by setting weekly goals and celebrating small wins.

The bottom line is that I care about the success of my students. I am patient, friendly and student- centered; I have had success with the students raise grades and test scores. I am deeply familiar with available interactive resources that will be used in the tutoring sessions and by the student on his own (during our time together and in the future.
