Hi Everyone. First, thank you for looking at my profile and for taking me into consideration. I am a law enforcement officer, married to a law enforcement officer, and we have 2 beautiful kids. I have been policing for 4 years and have specialized training in DUI enforcement. My husband's new role has him away from home more often, so I am staying home with our children over Summer break ! I have the distinct and humbling opportunity to teach at GPSTC on occasion and I am also humbled to be called in to lecture at the University of West Georgia.
My role here is simple, I want to help others expand their knowledge while also being "active" in law enforcement. With my EDS degree currently in pursuit, I am looking forward in using my training, skills, and knowledge to teach others about this wonderful career. I have a background in many different parts of law enforcement, as I was a night shift patrol officer, a School Resource Officer, and I train other officers across the state in Standardized Field Sobriety evaluations. I find it valuable to always be humble, thank my family for my upbringing, and encourage others through example.
I love tutoring because it allows me the opportunity to work with students one-on-one versus a large classroom ranging from 30-150 people. I like learning about my students so that I can help guide their learning process.
I was a School Resource Officer, which was new to me. I learned how to alter my wording and teaching "type" so that the message was communicated. I learned how younger students learn information. I also have a toddler aged son, whom I work with daily to help him grow. I can assist, based on each student, once I learn more about them.
As it applies to criminal justice/criminology I have a Master's degree displaying a thorough knowledge of the subject. I also have 4.5 years of experience to support my knowledge, and I am also a state certified instructor in Standardized Field Sobriety training.
