I am a dually certified General and Special Education teacher with over 15 years of experience supporting elementary, middle, and high school students with diverse academic, executive functioning, and social‑emotional needs. My background includes co‑teaching, resource, and self‑contained instruction, and I currently serve as an Academic Support Specialist for middle and high school learners, focusing on organization, study skills, and executive functioning. I have also served as a Special Education Specialist at the district level, where I supported IEP compliance, professional development, and behavior intervention.

I have direct experience working with students with autism and other learning differences, including time in a self‑contained autism classroom. I provide individualized social‑skills and social‑emotional learning (SEL) support to help students strengthen communication, flexible thinking, emotional regulation, and social problem solving.

I am trained in multisensory, structured literacy accredited by the International Dyslexia Association, including Orton Gillingham. I offer explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding/spelling, fluency, and comprehension, with extensive experience supporting students with dyslexia and other reading challenges.

My tutoring approach emphasizes accurate assessment, targeted instruction, and consistent progress monitoring to help students build strong foundational skills, confidence, and academic independence.

Knowledgeable and Patient

We have had 4 tutoring sessions with Casey. She is thorough and takes initiative. Our first contact involved reviewing my goals for my son. We are in a different state and I was impressed when she said she was going to look up our state’s standards. She jumps right in during each tutoring session so they get a lot done. She helps my son feel at ease. She is Incredibly patient with him. I like the way she breaks down what she is explaining. It makes it very easy for him to understand. My son is enjoying his lessons with Casey. She makes it so he remains engaged the entire time. I believe she is great at what she does and appreciate the work she is doing with my son. It has been immensely helpful.
