I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in teaching, and an education specialist degree in special education. I also hold a reading endorsement and a dyslexia endorsement and have completed formal training in the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading instruction. My educational background and certifications prepare me to provide structured, evidence-based literacy instruction aligned with the science of reading and structured literacy principles.

I am a certified special education teacher with extensive experience working with students who have dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, and other learning differences. I have taught students in classroom, small-group, and one-on-one settings, including public school, alternative, and virtual learning environments. My experience includes direct reading intervention and individualized tutoring using Orton-Gillingham–based methods, with instruction tailored to students across a range of ages and instructional levels.

In addition to my school-based teaching experience, I taught online for approximately five years through VIPKid, where I provided individualized virtual instruction to elementary-aged students. This experience strengthened my ability to engage learners in an online setting, adapt lessons in real time, and build strong rapport through a virtual platform. My instructional focus includes phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, and reading comprehension, along with executive functioning and study skills that support academic success. My goal as a tutor is to provide clear, supportive, and effective instruction that helps students make measurable progress while feeling confident and capable as learners.
