ADHD

On my current Georgia Educator Certificate, I am certified in Special Education, General Curriculum, p-12, Special Education Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies, Cognitive Level 5. I write IEPs for students with ADHD.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I taught a class with 5 students with Autism. I wrote their IEPs and differentiated instruction for each student and their individual needs. I've worked with students all over the spectrum.

Common Core

I have taught the Common Core Standards since they were rolled out. I was on a special committee to unpack each standard. Common Core is all about understanding each standard, and I teach each standard with various strategies, so that each student reached the top of Bloom's taxonomy. My students are able to teach the standards on their own.

Dyslexia

I have implemented the Barton Program. It is based off the mult-sensory Orton-Gillingham Approach. If students don't pass the Barton pre-assessment, I also have training in Edmark, which is a whole word approach to reading for students with dyslexia. I have also been trained in utilizing assistive technology when appropriate.

Elementary (K-6th)

On my current Georgia Educator Certificate, I am certified in Early Childhood Education, Reading Endorsement, and I am Certification Level 6.

I have a Bachelor's in Early Childhood and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction, including Elementary Math. I am a Specialist in Curriculum & Instruction and have a Reading Endorsement.

Executive Functioning

I am an Education Specialist with over 17 years of experience supporting students’ executive functioning skills across K–12 settings. I have worked extensively with students with ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, and other diverse learning needs, helping them build organization, time management, task initiation, planning, and self-monitoring skills. My background includes 12 years in special education classrooms and 5 years of online tutoring, where I provide structured, individualized strategies that students can apply independently. I focus on practical, real-life systems that improve academic performance, confidence, and independence.

Homeschool

I am a certified teacher with a Master's and Specialist degree. I have taught every subject in elementary school. I also taught special education.

Microsoft Windows is the operating system that I use daily. I use it for work and research.

Praxis

I have over 16 years of teaching experience preparing teacher candidates for Praxis exams that include essay and constructed-response writing. I help candidates analyze prompts, plan organized responses, and clearly explain educational concepts using appropriate terminology and evidence. My instruction focuses on structure, clarity, and scoring rubrics so students understand exactly how to earn full credit. I also provide targeted feedback and timed practice to build confidence and test readiness.
