I am Ahmad, and I recently finished my PhD in Computer Science at Virginia Tech. My academic background includes strong foundations in both mathematics and computer science, and I earned A+ grades in Calculus I and II, as well as in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I have also served as a teaching assistant for courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms and have experience teaching Computer Systems at Virginia Tech. I enjoy helping students understand challenging material and would bring an interactive and supportive approach to tutoring.

I have experience teaching Computer Systems at Virginia Tech to classes of more than 50 undergraduate students, covering topics such as operating systems, C programming, and computer networks. In my teaching, I have used a combination of slides, whiteboards, and an iPad to walk students through problems and procedures step by step. I find this approach especially effective for subjects such as calculus and discrete mathematics, where students often benefit from seeing how a proof, derivation, or algorithm develops from one step to the next. For online instruction, I use tools such as the Zoom whiteboard to provide the same interactive experience. In the classroom, I also try to maintain eye contact with students and ask questions throughout the lesson to make sure they remain engaged rather than simply listening passively. I encourage students to stop me at any time if they have a question or if something is unclear, so that the class remains interactive, comfortable, and focused on genuine understanding.

During my college teaching experience, I received positive feedback from students about both my teaching materials and my approach. One student noted that my personalized PowerPoint slides were more helpful than the pre-made course materials, while another described me as excellent at delivering lectures and always available to answer questions, adding that they wished more students attended my lectures.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I earned my PhD in Computer Science and have a strong mathematical foundation developed through years of coursework, teaching, and research. I am comfortable with Euclidean and coordinate geometry, geometric proofs and transformations, as well as vectors, planes, and geometry in two- and three-dimensional space. My broader mathematics background includes algebra, trigonometry, calculus, linear algebra, probability, and discrete mathematics. I have also used mathematical reasoning extensively when teaching computer science and when designing and analyzing algorithms and large-scale computing systems.
Calculus

Calculus

I earned my PhD in Computer Science and have a strong mathematical foundation developed through undergraduate and graduate coursework, teaching, and research. I am comfortable with differential and integral calculus, multivariable calculus, sequences and series, and topics involving vectors, partial derivatives, and multiple integrals. I also have experience with ordinary differential equations, including first- and second-order equations, systems of differential equations, and analytical techniques for solving and interpreting them. These mathematical foundations have supported my work in algorithms, modeling, optimization, and large-scale computing systems.
Computer Programming

Computer Programming

I earned my PhD in Computer Science and have extensive programming experience from coursework, teaching, and research. My programming background has been central to designing and implementing large-scale, efficient systems, particularly for distributed and AI infrastructure. During my undergraduate studies, I also gained experience debugging Linux kernel code and working with low-level systems concepts. As a teaching assistant, I was the primary designer of programming projects for courses such as Programming Languages and Compilers, which required both strong implementation skills and a deep understanding of software design and language concepts.
Differential Equations
