My name is Elina and I am currently an undergraduate student majoring in Neuroscience and Chemistry. I have always enjoyed teaching and explaining concepts to others and helping them understand the joys of science and math. Often times, I have seen that the abilities of a teacher to properly explain a topic can be the difference between enjoying a class or viewing it as a waste of time. To me, being able to fully understand concepts is key to appreciate the presented material. I use this mindset when tutoring others by breaking concepts down to maximize comprehension before building up to be able to apply the material to the assignments or exams used to test students. This also allows me to gauge students' understanding and meet them where they are at.
I have had some tutoring experience in the past working with various organizations on my university campus to tutor microbiology to high school students, and I currently work as a teaching assistant helping undergraduate students in the introductory chemistry labs. In these capacities, I have worked both one-on-one with students, as well as with large groups as I facilitate procedures in the lab.
My goal is to help students understand their material. I am open to any suggestions and feedback provided by students and parents. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to schedule a tutoring session!
