In my 4th year of college, I received the Christopher Michaels-Martinez Memorial Scholarship granted to me by UCSB's English department Chair. It was an honor to be selected by Christopher's parents and was a highlight of my college career. The recipients chosen are undergraduate students enrolled as English majors who are actively engaged in promoting social justice through language and/or written expression. Through tutoring, my goal is to inspire creative exploration of literature and what it can teach us about society, other individuals, and ourselves.
