About LaKeisha

My name is LaKeisha, and I believe that “The more that you read, the more things that you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go” as was said by Dr. Seuss. Based on this quote, reading and learning have certainly helped me to learn many things and to go many places. For instance, I graduated from Southwest High School and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Political Science from Wesleyan College. I also went on to Augusta State University, currently known as Augusta University, and received a Master’s degree in Public Administration. At the present moment, I am working on a Doctoral degree in Human Services with a Specialization in the Management of Nonprofit Agencies from Capella University.

The teaching and tutoring experience that I have consists of working with elementary, high school, and college students in subject areas pertaining to English, Writing, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and American Government. I believe that learning should be a memorable and relatable experience for students to enjoy and to apply in their life. My desire is for students to be able to experience the countless opportunities and places that reading and learning can take them as Dr. Seuss said. Reading and learning are life-long endeavors that can take people to places that they would not have imagined.

To receive tutoring help and services pertaining to English, Writing, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and American Government, please feel free to reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you to reach your highest potential.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Political Science

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Political Science at Wesleyan College. I also received a Master's degree in Public Administration from Augusta State University, which is an area of study that falls under Political Science. My familiarity with Political Science also derives from taking legal courses at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad School pertaining to criminal procedure and negotiable instruments as well as courses at Georgia College & State University that focused on criminal law, contracts, juvenile law, and conducting legal research and analysis. Moreover, I have experience with working as a legal assistant at a criminal defense and personal injury attorney's office and completing two internships at the Middle Georgia District Office of the former U.S. Senator Max Cleland and the Houston County District Attorney's Office.

LaKeisha is a patient instructor. She really works to make sure that her students understand the idea and concepts of the subject they are trying to learn. She gave me a boost of confidence and really helped me with my upcoming GRE exam.
