Hi! My name is Shelby, and I am a pre-certified high school mathematics teacher in Georgia. I currently teach Algebra and have also taught Geometry and Pre-Calculus. Before becoming a teacher, I spent over five years working in the corporate world, which helped me develop strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills that I now bring into my classroom and tutoring sessions.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Education. As a classroom teacher, I work with students of varying ability levels every day, from those who need additional support building foundational skills to those looking to strengthen their understanding and improve their grades. I have experience helping students with topics such as pre-algebra, algebra, functions, graphing, equations, geometry concepts, and standardized test preparation.

My tutoring philosophy is centered around building confidence while making learning approachable and engaging. Many students struggle with math because they feel overwhelmed or have gaps in their foundational understanding. I take the time to identify where those gaps exist and explain concepts in multiple ways until they make sense. I believe every student is capable of success when given the right support, encouragement, and strategies.

I strive to create a positive, patient, and judgment-free learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.
