Hi! I am a dedicated academic tutor with 2 years of experience helping high school and college students build confidence and master challenging subjects. I work with students in-person and online for in-depth tutoring, including addition to volunteering as the president of my school’s SAT Preparation Club which I founded. I specialize in standardized test prep, including the SAT, ACT, and AP courses. I’m also a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Certified Nursing Assistant, and National AP Scholar with a strong background in STEM and healthcare, which has strengthened my attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to explain complex material in simple, relatable ways.

As for my qualifications, I am currently a senior in high school with a 4.2 GPA, and several high scores on AP exams such as a 5 on AP World History and 3 on AP Biology that led me to be a recipient of College Board’s National AP Scholar Award. I have taken and excelled in numerous courses such as AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, and AP Literature. I look forward to helping high-achieving students like myself to succeed in difficult coursework.

Throughout my tutoring journey, I’ve worked with students from various levels of education. My approach is personalized — I identify each student’s learning style and create strategies that fit their needs, ensuring they truly understand the material rather than just memorize it. I use clear explanations, real-world examples, and consistent feedback to make learning interactive and effective. Oftentimes, I take advantage of Quizlet, Khan Academy, Oneprep, Knowt, Princeton Review Textbooks, and many other reputable resources for study during sessions and go above and beyond to create personalized study guides for further use.

Excellent Tutor Who Truly Understands How to Teach Concepts!

Destiny has been wonderful to work with! My daughter was struggling with understanding the underlying concepts in her honors algebra II class, and Destiny was exactly what she needed. From the start, Destiny was responsive and willing to dedicate the whole 2 hours to really teaching the foundational concepts - not just rushing through problems, but making sure my daughter truly understood the material. Her teaching approach focuses on explanation and practice, which is precisely what she needs. After just one session with Destiny, my daughter came to me and said she felt confident she could take her test the next day! That's a huge turnaround from where she was before. Destiny did a great job with my daughter who was struggling with some Algebra 2 concepts. The lesson was slow going on my daughter's part. There was a lot my daughter did not understand. Destiny was kind and patient with her, helping her expand on what she did understand and really help lead her through the concept.
