I recently graduated from Boston College with a double major in Psychology and English, earning a 3.5 GPA and recognition as a QuestBridge College Match Scholar. My academic background prepared me to tutor in areas such as English Language Arts, writing, reading comprehension, and Psychology. Through both majors, I developed strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, which I used to help others succeed in their academic work.
During my time at Boston College, I worked as a tutor at the university’s Writing Center, where I supported undergraduate and graduate students at all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming and outlining to revising final drafts. I also served as a Teaching Assistant for a first-year seminar course, where I facilitated group discussions, offered one-on-one writing guidance, and helped students adjust to college-level coursework. My approach was always student-centered, focused on building confidence and clarity through personalized feedback and open dialogue.
In addition to my campus roles, I tutored middle and high school students through volunteer programs, including service immersion work in Jamaica, where I assisted students with learning disabilities. These experiences allowed me to adapt my methods across different learning levels, age groups, and cultural contexts. Whether working one-on-one or in small groups, I aimed to make learning accessible by breaking down complex ideas and creating a supportive environment that encouraged growth.
