Hi, I’m Rose! Writing has been at the center of my academic and professional life for over 10 years, and I’ve built my career around helping writers develop their work. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing from Georgia State University. My extensive coursework focused on story structure and narrative craft and included both workshop-style and one-on-one critiques. I later completed a graduate certificate in publishing through the Denver Publishing Institute at the University of Denver. My training there focused on developmental editing, content editing, and copy editing, with an emphasis on narrative structure, clarity, voice, and understanding how a piece resonates with an audience.

I’ve worked with writers of all experience levels, including college students, emerging writers, and experienced authors. I regularly support writers as they develop novels, short stories, academic essays, and other projects, helping them move past creative roadblocks, organize their ideas, and refine their prose. I also help writers strengthen sentence flow and clarity, and navigate more nuanced aspects of craft, such as tone, voice, and verisimilitude, in a way that feels practical, approachable, and encouraging.

I write fiction regularly, including a novel in progress and short stories I’m preparing for publication. My experience developing my own creative projects informs how I provide feedback—balancing practical guidance with encouragement. My approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to each student, creating a space where writers feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and growing. When reviewing work, I use tools like Microsoft Track Changes or Google Docs Suggestions instead of making direct corrections. Doing so allows us to discuss areas of opportunity in a more conversational and hands-on way. Ultimately, I’m here to help writers build skills they can carry forward, so they feel more capable, confident, and in control of their writing.

Creative Writing

Creative Writing

I have a Bachelor of the Arts in English-Creative Writing from Georgia State University, and a graduate certificate from the Denver Publishing Institute at the University of Denver. My extensive coursework, practical writing experience as an active creative writer, and 10+ years of participating in and leading critique roundtables qualify me as an expert in the craft (and revision) of creative writing. I have a deep understanding and proven ability to guide writers from concept to draft to revision, and I also assist with query letters and can provide insight into the publication process.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I’ve supported college students writing essays in English literature, history, and business, as well as graduate thesis work. Through structured feedback and revision guidance, I’ve helped students improve both their writing skills and academic performance, including raising essay grades from the C range into the B range. My training in English, creative writing, and publishing allows me to help students strengthen thesis development, organization, and clarity. My goal is to help students feel more confident and capable in their academic writing.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I specialize in working with fiction writers (short stories, novels, portfolios) at all stages, providing developmental, content, and copy editing support. My training through the Denver Publishing Institute at the University of Denver focused on evaluating narrative structure, character development, pacing, and voice. I work closely with writers to strengthen story cohesion without sacrificing each writer’s unique style. As a writer and editor, I understand both the creative and technical sides of fiction and help writers develop stronger, more confident storytelling skills.
