Hi! I'm Carter, and I am excited to come in as a dedicated and effective tutor in math and standardized testing prep. I recently graduated in the top 5% of my graduating class with a 4.3 G.P.A, so I know exactly what top-notch performance today requires. Taking AP and honors classes, navigating today's schooling system, and facing the rigorous testing cycle has provided me with very current and comprehensive look at what students face. This background allows me to effectively clarify complicated algebraic formulas, geometrical rules, and standardized testing stories as clear and approachable concepts for middle and high school students; Which hopefully might help you get a 1350 on the SAT like I did.

My tutoring style relies heavily on one-to-one tailored teaching and the creation of a safe and supportive working atmosphere. Because I am fresh out of high school, I am extremely accessible and easy to talk to, which helps take the edge off of test-related anxiety that prohibits capable students from maximizing their score potential. I reject the idea of a fixed heavy textbook style curriculum that is imposed on all students. Instead, I move my style to the pace and style of each student, providing targeted help as it is needed for fundamentals of algebra, pacing for the reading section of the SAT, or organization for study routines.

Through my academic experience, I have regularly peer-tutored for fellow students and younger siblings through informal and formalized study groups, which helped me in quickly identifying problem areas and changing explanation styles according to the student. I emphasize a lighthearted humor and longer-term confidence to make every student ready on the day of the test!
