My name is Armando and I am looking forward to getting an opportunity to be your personal tutor. I feel that I have a wide range of skills and experiences as an educator that will allow me to effectively help you gain a better understanding of mathematics and thrive as a student.

I have been an educator for over 25 years working as a teacher, coach, and a counselor to students ages 12 through adult. In each of these roles I have taken great satisfaction in helping students succeed and take steps toward meeting their personal goals. I have earned a doctorate in teacher leadership and three master’s degrees in education (counselor education, secondary math education, and educational leadership). I have taught pre-algebra, algebra I, geometry, algebra II, statistics, and linear algebra in addition to graduate-level courses in education. A strength that I have to offer as a mathematics teacher is an ability to recognize gaps in mathematical concept development as a result of my experience teaching students from grades seven through collegiate-level.

Some of the personal qualities that I have to offer are enthusiasm for working with all types of students, excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, patience and a great sense of humor. I am sure that if given the opportunity, I can make a positive difference in your academic success.

Most Amazing Math Tutor Ever!

Mr. Armando tutored my 8th grader in math and immediately she was able to understand some of the missing pieces. He is able to effectively and quickly identify the gaps and explain mathematics in a simplified way. I highly recommend Mr. Armando!

Accelerated Geometry Tutor

Very overdue review! Armando has been fantastic with our daughter Madison, He is very thorough. My daughter feels very confident after her tutoring session. We are using tutoring proactively this semester so she has an A and has been able to keep her grade at a high A. Last semester, we started her tutoring when she had a C and was able to bring her grade up to a high B . Another big plus is that he makes himself available on short notice. GSMST gives their students short notice of tests so this is a huge plus for us. Very much recommend Armando!!
