I have for more than 6 years been teaching study and testing skills at the University level. I teach this to freshman in a group environment at FAU as needed. I completed successfully, at University of Miami, a course on the teaching skills and methods for both study and testing skills. Many of our university students come to the college classroom with poor time management and study skills, struggling for even a "C". I have tutored students in private sessions resulting in a 1-2 grade increase. Although there is not a one skill list fits all, with individual adjustments to there approach everyone can increase their grades. Using these essential methods, when applied correctly, improve subject material comprehension resulting in improved grades. Beyond the basic when and where factors, there is a deeper level of reading and listening comprehension. Often a student hears the lecture in class and read the word in the text but fails to listen or understand the concept or statements. With practiced study skills, student frustration diminishes resulting in better comprehension and retention. Good study skills are often ignored until poor grade become a factor but it is a problem which can improve with guidance, implementation and practice.

Dr. DuPont is such a great tutor! First session created a plan and each session I could feel my improvement with answering questions and understanding the correct answer if I selected the wrong one. Provided handouts where I need a little more clarity. Always positive and patient!

Awesome Instructor!!!!

Dr D is someone who you would want when studying for the NCLEX. He is great at teaching the necessary strategies to apply while answering nursing scenarios. I found my time very productive because I feel more confident answering different scenario questions. He shares his experiences to help remember some key elements of Nursing. I greatly appreciated his time and knowledge. Thanks Dr D.

Dr. duPont is a great instructor. He broke down the topics in easy to understand material. He made me feel comfortable asking questions. I was able to gain more knowledge through our 1st session. I have already booked 2 more. I highly recommend him.

Look No Further- 93 on my HESI!

Louis (aka) Chip was exactly what I needed. I could write pages about his attributes, but will try to get to the high points for most people. I worked with this tutor, after having some bad experiences with many others, for more hours than I can count so I do feel my opinion is informed. 1. Louis is SUPER knowledgeable. Read his bio, and know there is so much more he has accomplished. He is involved in so many aspects of the medical field that it is mind boggling how he does it all. 2. Knowledge does not make a person a good teacher. He IS a good teacher. He is patient, funny, and kind, and kept me calm when I was freakin'. He was my support system as well and didn't charge me for the "getting to know you" chit chat portion of our lessons. I really appreciated that. 3. He has stacks and stacks of resources, books, docs, and links to support his teaching method and your learning. Yes, he has developed his own method, but works hard to understand how you are unique. 4. Proof is in the pudding! I listened and trusted him. I did as he suggested and I made a 93 on my HESI A2 with Crit Thinking. I have particular challenges as I am dyslexic and "of an age", but Louis just kept smiling and encouraging. I will come back to him for my dosage test, my exit HESI and licensing exam. I also recommended him to my 21 year old cousin in medical school. I believe he can tutor any age, any disability, any course in the health sciences. Book him now!

Very thorough!

Dr. D takes his time to thoroughly explain each answer and provide you with supplemental resources in order to really learn the content that you’re struggling with. I am so grateful for him.
