Hi there! I’m Cynthia, a college psychology instructor and research scientist with a master’s in Experimental Psychology and a neuroscience minor. I currently teach Introduction to Psychology and conduct behavioral neuroscience research, so I spend every day bridging theory, experiment, and real-world application.

I specialize in helping students truly understand the concepts behind their coursework rather than just memorizing them. Whether you’re decoding neuroanatomy, breaking down complex statistics, or tackling chemistry reactions, I’ll meet you where you are and build your confidence step by step.

My tutoring style is interactive and evidence-based; I draw on proven learning techniques from cognitive psychology to make sessions efficient and memorable. Students describe my approach as patient, engaging, and tailored to their learning style.

I’ve helped high school and college students master everything from research methods and brain-behavior relationships to general chemistry and scientific writing. My goal is always the same: help you think like a scientist, not just pass a test.

If you’re ready to stop cramming and start understanding, I’d love to help you get there.

Approved Subjects

ADHD

ADHD

I hold a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology and previously worked as both a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and a Behavior Tech Trainer, supporting children and adolescents with ADHD, autism, and related learning differences. My experience spans classroom settings, one-on-one intervention, and parent training, with an emphasis on executive function, self-regulation, and learning strategies. I combine evidence-based behavioral principles with compassion and structure to help students improve focus, task completion, and confidence. My goal is to make learning feel achievable, not overwhelming.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I hold a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology and have several years of experience working directly with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) and later as a Behavior Tech Trainer. I’ve designed and implemented individualized behavior plans focused on communication, social skills, and academic readiness. My background blends applied behavioral analysis (ABA) with developmental psychology, allowing me to adapt evidence-based methods to each learner’s unique strengths and needs. I aim to create a supportive, structured, and predictable learning environment that fosters progress and confidence.
EMT/ NREMT

EMT/ NREMT

I’m a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) with hands-on clinical and field experience in Southeast Georgia. My training includes emergency assessment, trauma management, airway interventions, and patient transport procedures. I can help students preparing for the NREMT or EMT coursework understand key concepts like anatomy and physiology, vital sign interpretation, and emergency protocols. My focus is on building real-world understanding and test-ready confidence for both the classroom and the field.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

With a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology and years of experience as a Behavior Technician and Trainer, I specialize in helping students strengthen executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, and sustained attention. My approach blends cognitive-behavioral strategies with practical tools to improve planning, task initiation, and emotional regulation. Whether you’re a high school or college student struggling to stay on top of assignments, or an adult balancing work and study, I provide structured, personalized strategies to help you stay focused and follow through on goals with confidence.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

I hold a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology with a minor in Neuroscience and have conducted extensive research on brain–behavior relationships, including a recent paper on pain perception currently under journal review. My experience spans both human and animal models, giving me a strong foundation in neuroanatomy, physiology, and behavioral neuroscience. I’ve taught psychology and research methods at the college level and enjoy helping students connect biological mechanisms to real-world behavior. Whether you’re preparing for exams, writing lab reports, or tackling advanced neuroscience concepts, I can help you master the material with clarity and confidence.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I hold a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology with a neuroscience minor and currently teach undergraduate psychology courses while conducting behavioral research. I’ve completed two theses myself, one at the undergraduate level and one for my master’s, giving me firsthand experience with every stage of the process, from topic selection and IRB approval to final defense. I’ve also guided students through literature reviews, data analysis, and APA-style formatting. My goal is to help you turn complex ideas into clear, well-organized academic writing and approach your thesis with confidence.
