I have a bachelor's degree in history from LaGrange College. While attending, I was involved by serving at local public schools across the area tutoring students, playing college football, and of course, taking classes and learning more about history! I have a GACE teaching certificate (GA) that is currently expired. I wanted to take time off to raise my daughter who was born in 2022 and currently work as a software engineer for a tech company. Previously, I taught for 7 years in Georgia. I earned my gifted endorsement, as well as my AP certification. I was a lead teacher and developed lesson plans, materials, and our academic calendar for our social studies department. I was also a football coach and have served as an athletic director.
My teaching method is simple. I teach students. Not just subject matter. I understand that each student learns differently, and that motivates me to teach students to the best of my ability. I understand flexibility and communication are vastly important and I believe good relationships are key in an educational setting. I also pride myself on being a good motivator and allowing my students to understand that they can achieve access with hard work and confidence.
I taught high school and middle school students in a public school, classroom setting. I taught gifted courses in history and AP government classes and was highly qualified in both. I also have experience with co-taught classes.
