Hello Students, my name is Chike O., I have never been officially labeled a tutor but as a child counselor I have assisted some of my clients in understanding and organizing their daily lesson plans and homework. I was a great student of history, English, writing, and religious studies. I will love to pass along my knowledge toward helping a student better understand his/her current lesson plan.
I majored in psychology for my bachelors degree and completed my masters in the same subject as well. While in school I learned to be able to communicate well both orally and in writing. I took both speech class as well as several English and writing classes. I keep and continuously update my own personal blog related to current news media reports in order to stay up to date with the day to day events and stay on top of my writing skills.
I have never received a grade below a B in history throughout my entire middle school, high school , and college career. History has always been my favorite subject. I am a great story teller as well as one who remembers the details of America's past. I also know how use and look up additional resources in order to find much needed information. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
