Hi! My name is Anna, and I graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Human Development and Family Science while completing the core science coursework required for medical school. My academic background includes extensive coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, and biochemistry, and I am currently continuing my preparation for medical school while working in healthcare. Through my studies and clinical experience, I have developed a strong understanding of scientific concepts and how to apply them in real-world settings.
I have several years of experience teaching and mentoring students in both formal and informal settings. I have worked one-on-one with middle school, high school, and college students to help them better understand challenging science material, prepare for exams, and improve their confidence in subjects like biology and chemistry. Much of my teaching experience has occurred in individualized learning environments where I guide students through problems step by step, identify where confusion begins, and adjust my explanations to match their learning style. I have also worked with younger students through coaching and mentorship roles, which helped me learn how to make complex ideas easier to understand.
My tutoring approach focuses on building true understanding rather than memorization. I help students break down complex topics into manageable pieces and connect concepts so they make logical sense. I often use real-world examples, visual explanations, and practice problems to reinforce learning. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to help them develop confidence and problem-solving skills that will carry forward into future coursework.
