Hello! My name is Josh, and I am a former software engineer. I previously worked for a FinTech company, and am now looking to help other on their journey to becoming software engineers. While I do not have a degree, I did attend a nine month course for full-stack engineering, working with JavaScript, React, Redux, and NodeJS. My time as a professional software engineer was spent working full-stack with TypeScript and C#. Though I am versed in frontend and backend, I have found I enjoy frontend more.
I am pretty laid-back and patient, so you can rest assured that working with me will be easy and as stress-free as possible. Though I don't have any prior formal teaching experience, I have spent quite some time helping others learn new things, including software engineering, and my efforts all seem to have been well received. Specifically, a friend and I began working recently on game development, with the industry being new to me, and programming being completely new to my friend. We worked together to learn the language and concepts required, and I helped him learn good programming practices. So far, we don't have a finished game yet, but we have made pretty good progress, and he has mentioned multiple times that I played a big part in his journey to learning programming.
