I am a strong supporter of my students. I understand their math stress and help them overcome it and actually LIKE math. I use a multi-modality methodology so each student learns and understands in his/her own way.
I also provide homework help and online tutoring using an online whiteboard program (no downloads necessary). It is a fun, effective and interactive way for students to learn while sitting in their own homes. Michelle did an in-depth session with my daughter covering the beginning material of an algebra 1 course. She took the time to explain the basics so that my daughter had a good foundation to begin an independent study of that course. Michelle was also very helpful and teaching my daughter methods for independent studying. Thank you Michelle! My daughter looks forward to working with you again!

Michelle is very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I was a bit nervous trying to find a tutor online, but I couldn't be happier. Michelle made a fast connection with my middle school daughter and has been fabulous about keeping me informed of the details of their sessions. It's obvious that she truly cares about children and thoroughly enjoys tutoring. My daughter and I are very pleased.
I appreciate Michelle's listening and assessment skills. I believe her to be a great teacher and resource for my son's academic success with the CRCT and beyond.
Michelle has been working with my son for the past month. She is patient, understanding and an excellent tutor. His grades have increased tremendously in the short space of time. I highly recommend her. My son always looks forward to his lessons. He says she makes math easier.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a certified teacher with credentials in EMH/TMH/PMH, LD/ADHD, low-incidence handicaps/ASD. I have had several years experience teaching and working with individuals with LD/ADHD both in the classroom and in individual settings.
My personal strategy is to work in conjunction with established programs to help the student clearly define his/her goals and strategies for accomplishment. The strategies may include improving academic skills, organization skills, awareness of learning modalities, test taking skills, and many others.
My personal approach is to try to encourage the students to remain consistent in implementing strategies for success.
I am a certified teacher with credentials in EMH/TMH/PMH, LD/ADHD, low-incidence handicaps/ASD. I have had several years experience teaching and working with individuals with Asperger’s syndrome and HFA both in the classroom and in individual settings.
My approach to working with ASD/HFA is to understand and respect each student for his/her individuality. Instruction is usually more effective when it is related to the student’s interests. As many ASD/HFA students have a great deal of insight into the subject matter and their own challenges, it is often helpful to give the student opportunities for self expression.
My personal approach is to work with parents and caregivers to clearly define the goals and to try to gain insight into new strategies to supplement those already in place by the existing school programs.
I am a certified teacher with credentials in EMH/TMH/PMH, LD/ADHD, low-incidence handicaps/ASD. I have had several years experience teaching and working with individuals with classic autism both in the classroom and in individual settings.
My belief is that to be successful working with autistic individuals, it is critical to work hand-in-hand with the parents and caregivers. As routines and preferences must usually remain uniform, it is important to be cognizant and respectful of this.
My personal approach is one of calm predictability. I believe in the goal of overcoming social and sensory mal-adaptations while being empathetic with the individual trying to overcome them.
I am a former classroom teacher. I am certified and have successful classroom teaching experience. I am certified and experienced with gifted students, regular students, as well as students with learning difficulties. I have been an avid needle worker since youth. I have experience in many areas such as hand embroidery stitches, cross stitch, hardangar, whitework, blackwork, and Brazilian Dimensional embroidery including several bullion variations.
I have experience working with a professional designer constructing and applying hand embroidery to garments marketed to the public. And I have experience teaching sewing and embroidery to adults and children.
I believe hand embroidery is a perfect way to relax and be creative. There is a wonderful sense of satisfaction and accomplishment from completing a beautiful embroidered item. And I believe the beauty of hand embroidery is still loved and appreciated in our very technical world.
I hold teaching certification in the fields of EMH/TMH/PMH, LD, Multihandicapped including Autism and High Functioning Autism (Aspergers). I have several years successful classroom teaching experience with students categorized as autistic, Asperger, Down's, blind, as well as successful classroom experience with students categorized as advanced.
