Proven track record: fast improvement of grades at school, high EOCT scores and “placement” at nationally recognized math competition.

I am a strong supporter of my students. I understand their math stress and help them overcome it and actually LIKE math. I use a multi-modality methodology so each student learns and understands in his/her own way.

I also provide homework help and online tutoring using an online whiteboard program (no downloads necessary). It is a fun, effective and interactive way for students to learn while sitting in their own homes.

ADHD

ADHD

I am a certified teacher with credentials in EMH/TMH/PMH, LD/ADHD, low-incidence handicaps/ASD. I have had several years experience teaching and working with individuals with LD/ADHD both in the classroom and in individual settings. My personal strategy is to work in conjunction with established programs to help the student clearly define his/her goals and strategies for accomplishment. The strategies may include improving academic skills, organization skills, awareness of learning modalities, test taking skills, and many others. My personal approach is to try to encourage the students to remain consistent in implementing strategies for success.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I am a certified teacher with credentials in EMH/TMH/PMH, LD/ADHD, low-incidence handicaps/ASD. I have had several years experience teaching and working with individuals with classic autism both in the classroom and in individual settings. My belief is that to be successful working with autistic individuals, it is critical to work hand-in-hand with the parents and caregivers. As routines and preferences must usually remain uniform, it is important to be cognizant and respectful of this. My personal approach is one of calm predictability. I believe in the goal of overcoming social and sensory mal-adaptations while being empathetic with the individual trying to overcome them.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a former classroom teacher. I am certified and have successful classroom teaching experience. I am certified and experienced with gifted students, regular students, as well as students with learning difficulties. I, also, have several years experience helping students prepare for standardized tests. I teach for "understanding" when we work to improve school grades. And I teach test-taking-strategies when we prepare for tests.
Needlework

Needlework

I have been an avid needle worker since youth. I have experience in many areas such as hand embroidery stitches, cross stitch, hardangar, whitework, blackwork, and Brazilian Dimensional embroidery including several bullion variations. I have experience working with a professional designer constructing and applying hand embroidery to garments marketed to the public. And I have experience teaching sewing and embroidery to adults and children. I believe hand embroidery is a perfect way to relax and be creative. There is a wonderful sense of satisfaction and accomplishment from completing a beautiful embroidered item. And I believe the beauty of hand embroidery is still loved and appreciated in our very technical world.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Highly recommend! Our son struggles in math and she does a great job explaining thoroughly and giving them the confidence to get through math. His teacher has even said she has seen such a difference in class and he raises his hand and answers questions.
