I'm Alicia! I hold both a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth and Space Science Education from Brigham Young University and a Master’s of Science in Earth Science from the University of Utah. These degrees have provided me with a strong foundation in the subject areas I teach, and I’ve been able to apply that knowledge through various teaching and tutoring experiences. I taught 7th-grade science in a classroom setting for four years, where I developed engaging, hands-on lessons that adhered to state and national science standards. In addition, I ran a homeschool science program for three years, tailoring curriculum to meet individual student needs. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how to simplify complex scientific concepts for younger learners while keeping lessons engaging and relevant to real-world applications.
