I am currently a Masters student in molecular biology with a strong academic record and research experience, and I have spent the past year teaching introductory biology at the college level. In that role, I worked with large groups of undergraduate students while also providing one on one support during office hours, helping them understand core concepts such as cell biology, genetics, and laboratory techniques. My background combines both advanced research experience and hands on teaching, which allows me to break down complex scientific ideas into clear, understandable explanations for students at the high school and college level.
My teaching approach is centered on clarity, structure, and building confidence. I focus on identifying where a student's understanding begins to break down and then rebuilding that foundation step by step. Rather than relying on memorization, I emphasize conceptual understanding helping students see how and why biological systems work. I often use real world examples and simplified models to make abstract topics more intuitive, and I tailor each session to the student's goals, whether that is improving grades, preparing for exams, or gaining a deeper understanding of the material.
I have experience working with college students in a classroom setting as well as in one on one environments, and I am comfortable adapting my teaching style to different learning preferences and levels of preparation. My goal is not only to help students succeed academically, but also to help them feel more confident approaching challenging material independently.
