Bio

I am a native speaker of Russian who moved to the US in 2008. I have a masters degree in English with concentration in teaching ESL (teaching English as a second language) and a bachelors degree in German. I tutor in person and online.

I have years of tutoring and teaching experience working with students of different ages and varying proficiency levels. I have taught English to non-native speakers in college and in various language schools.

I tailor my teaching style to students' goals and needs. Every person is different in his/her learning style or method, so I work together with each student to put together a customized syllabus with realistic and manageable goals for a set time frame. Whatever your language goals are, I will help you to achieve them. That's my goal for every student.
I like learning foreign languages, traveling and learning different cultures. My traveling experiences and chances to live in different countries helped me to embrace cultural differences as something we should celebrate and learn from. We can start doing that from simply engaging in a conversation and sharing stories.

I am a native speaker of Russian who moved to the US in 2008. I have a master's degree in English with concentration in ESL and a bachelors degree in German. I started tutoring Russian (in person one-on-one) and online in 2012 and really enjoy it. I tailor my lessons based on students' goals and needs. Every person is different in their learning style/strategies, so I work out a teaching method that is the most efficient for each particular student I work with. I also believe that learning a language requires understanding the culture and the communicational norms of that culture which I help my students understand and learn as well.

Outstanding and experienced teacher!

As a foreign language teacher myself (German) I know what to look for in a tutor and Faniya has it. She knows her material well and handles all sorts of odd and advanced questions with grace and ease. I'm looking forward to more lessons with her after I return from my trip abroad!
