I was born hearing and became Deaf at the age of 3 due to a high fever. I began learning American Sign Language (ASL) at age 6 during kindergarten, and ASL has been my primary language ever since. As a native ASL user, I have years of lived experience communicating within both the Deaf and hearing communities. I am passionate about helping students develop strong ASL skills while also fostering an appreciation for Deaf culture. I enjoy connecting with both Deaf and hearing individuals and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
I assist students with homework help, exam preparation, fingerspelling practice, conversational skills, and overall language development. I work with beginners (ASL 1) as well as more advanced students who want to improve their fluency and confidence. My teaching style is patient, interactive, and visually focused. I encourage students to feel comfortable making mistakes and improving step by step.
My goal is to help each student gain confidence, communicate naturally, and feel prepared to use ASL in real-world situations. I am eager to assist students on their ASL journey and help them succeed both academically and socially. Learning ASL can be fun and rewarding, and I am committed to making every lesson engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs.
