Hello! I’m an experienced teacher, with approximately six years of teaching experience. During my time at university, I earned both a TEFL and a TESOL certificate, as well as both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Applied Linguistics. Though I have experience teaching, I am always looking to expand my teaching philosophy and learn more about modern teaching styles that I can implement with a student. I am always trying to improve as a teacher, in order to be the best teacher I can be.

I have experience both with adults and students in secondary education. Between my undergraduate program and graduate program, I worked with Kelly Educational Services and provided substitute teaching to a multitude of different middle and high schools in my area. Once I started working on my graduate degree, I had the opportunity to apply for assistantships that allowed me to gain teaching experience. I worked as a tutor for the Intensive English Program (IEP) at Georgia State University for one semester where I was able to learn a lot about how to apply different teaching theories I had learned. Afterward, I was given the opportunity to teach an online English course in the IEP by myself as well as working with a co-teacher to run a class for East African refugees with the Center for Pan Asian Community Services. After graduation, I found a position at Kennesaw State University where I taught immigrant students academic English as well as a community based English course. At Kennesaw State, I taught a variety of levels and language skills. After which, I moved to Japan were I started working at a conversation based school in Yokohama where I taught ages as young as 2 up to adult students for a year. After that year, I switched to working at a Japanese junior / senior high school where I taught English Literature to students in an International program. I am currently working on my PhD in Linguistics at the University of Georgia.
