Hello! My name is Damilola, and I am excited to offer my tutoring services to students and parents seeking a dedicated educator. I am a recent graduate from Duke University, and have a bachelors of Arts in both Spanish and Global Health, I am also currently working towards going to med school. This diverse academic background has equipped me with a unique skill set that I hope to share with my students. My educational journey was enriched by earning my International Baccalaureate Diploma in high school, a rigorous program that honed my critical thinking skills, global perspective, and academic discipline. I have extensive teaching experience across various subjects and age groups. As a Team Leader with Jumpstart AmeriCorps, I facilitated learning and reading abilities in preschool classrooms, implementing the curriculum and assisting teachers. This role taught me the importance of patience, creativity, and adaptability in teaching. In addition, I have served as a Research Assistant in projects involving community-engaged sickle cell disease research and transitional care for patients with traumatic brain injuries. These experiences have deepened my understanding of health sciences and research methods, enabling me to provide students with insights into real-world applications. I also have a strong background in music, specifically vocally. I have directed and led musical projects, such as being the Assistant Music Director for Duke's "Something Borrowed Something Blue" a cappella group. This blend of academic and extracurricular involvement allows me to connect with students on multiple levels, creating a well-rounded learning environment. My tutoring approach is student-centered, focusing on individual learning styles and needs. I believe in creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere where students feel confident to ask questions and explore new concepts. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your child, making education a fun and rewarding experience!
